The Birdman is an orphaned pale-skin raised in the ways of the Sioux by Chief Stumbling Moose, a man he refers to as his father. He saved Mustang and Papa D from certain death at Little Bighorn, becoming the Third and final Member of the Fringe Riders. Sometimes at night his Sioux father visits him in feverish dreams.
